Position Description:
Barrick is looking for a Senior Hydrologist to join the Underground Geology team.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement and maintain and improve a piezometer network required to generate hydrologic information
Ensure all hydrological data is collected, monitored, analyzed, and interpreted for inclusion in periodic mine forecasts
Communicate the hydrology/dewatering status to stakeholder
Assist with/update the Hydrological 3D model as required
Oversee aquifer testing; underground shut-in tests, airlifts, and well-field performance evaluation
Contribute to annual drill program planning/reporting
Oversee drilling contractors and provide well design and installation directions
Complete weekly and Monthly reports as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrology or related field required
Minimum 4 years of experience in field of mine dewatering or mine hydrology and/or underground mining required
Ability to read and write instructions and communicate information effectively required
Ability to perform work on varying surface required

Barrick Nevada is an integrated gold mining operation that combines the Cortez and Goldstrike properties in Nevada, employing a total of 3,000 employees and 800 contractors. The operation utilizes both open pit and underground mining methods with Autoclave and Roaster processing facilities at Goldstrike and Milling/Heap Leaching facilities at Cortez.
