: Cape Canaveral, FL ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Land Surveyor to support our CLOIS program at Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Job Summary
Perform tasks based on strong working knowledge and land survey experience. Perform recurring surveys of land, buildings and structures located at CCAFS and associated Annex sites. Support design requirements when required. Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Operate Trimble (or equal) survey equipment equipped with base station. + Interpret and process geospatial information meeting GeoBase CIP and Mission Data Set (MDS) control documents. + Develop and maintain measurements of building floor plans with assistance of Facility Utilization Manager. + Provide survey services for the development of linear segmentation, On-Base Obstruction to Airfield and Airspace Criteria, real estate maps, lines of sight mapping and site planning. + Survey twenty percent of all facilities, infrastructure and pavement identified in the 7115 Real Property Report. + Survey underground utility systems during repair/construction activities. Survey and correct GIS data for new facilities to include parking lots, stormwater systems and sidewalks. + Ensure data collected and processed for linear segmentation complies with SMS Utility tool. Guidance is contained in the Linear Segmentation Rules for Utilities and other documentation provided by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). + Ensure compliance, accuracy and timeliness of file update affecting Installation layout, current and future land use including in- and out-grants. + Measurements shall be of survey grade accuracy (sub-centimeter). + May be asked to support hurricane preparation and recovery activities. Requirements:
+ Associate's degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field. Equivalent education/experience is applicable. + Two years' experience with geographic information systems. Continued education and training on an informal or formal basis is desired. + Background in Air Force Civil Engineering and/or formal education and working knowledge of geographic information system software (ESRI) and related applications. + Working knowledge of AutoCAD and related applications. Able to read and Interpret design, construction, and as-built soft and hard copy drawings. + Working knowledge of general graphic and administrative software such as Acrobat and MS Word and Excel. + Valid State of Florida and driver license is required. + May include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities. May be required to participate in preparation, ride-out, and recovery actions following natural disasters. May be asked to support hurricane preparation and recovery activities. + Perform work in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Air Force laws, regulations and requirements including energy management, conservation regulations, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy. + DoD Secret Clearance _ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
