|Manufacturing Technician 1 (MF - PI - MANUT - TE13)|
High school education, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Performs tasks that require knowledge of a combination of processes, operations, and equipment. Mechanical assembly & electrical wiring experience preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or related environment (such as vehicle or small machine maintenance), including work in a 5S, LEAN or SAP environment, is beneficial. Duties include, but are not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to perform electro-mechanical production assembly operations. Builds electrical or mechanical sub-assemblies such as cable harnesses, electrical backplanes, or control circuits and mounts parts. Assembles & wires medium-sized DC switchgear as final product. Makes visual inspections and performs established quality checks. Uses hand and power shop tools. Must be able to safely lift 30-40 pounds on a regular basis for brief periods. Identifies and reports problems to Group Lead or Manager while being able to perform basic tasks independently. Voluntary overtime may be requested by supervisors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform manual tasks with hands & assemble systems level equipment.

The qualifications they are most often lacking are experience working in a manufacturing environment, especially related to electro-mechanical assembly, or having a related, relevant skill set/aptitude. They need to be able to follow written & verbal instructions, & know or be able to learn how to read schematics, diagrams, etc. We are also looking for team players who are diligent, willing to learn, & have a history of working well with others. Just basic assembly job skills.
