Maintenance Technician

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining complex

machinery and mechanical/ electrical equipment and vacuum systems for EDAC’s manufacturing welding division.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Support Lead Maintenance Technician on performing regular preventative maintenance
  •  Working with hand tools and power tools in cold and hot environment
  •  Operating mobile equipment as required such as forklifts, cranes.
  •  Monitor and maintain environmental, health and safety equipment and systems for both production and non-production equipment as directed.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:

 High school diploma required

  •  Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance or similar 2 year technical degree in a related field preferred.    
  •  3 - 5 years knowledge as a multi-craft technician in the following fields: Mechanics, Electricity, and vacuum pump systems.

 Language Skills:

  •  Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings (e.g. blue prints, manuals, wiring diagrams etc.)
  •  Must speak and understand English

 Mathematical Skills:

  •  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
  •  Physical Demands:
  •  Ability to lift up to 50 Ibs.

 Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving

Mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Ability to work independently in a fast paced deadline orientated environment.

Must be able to work in a team environment
