As a Big Data Support Engineer you will configure, integrate, and support internal network environments. The type of underlying components that support the platform typically include, Linux as a base operating system, Elastic Stack (ELK), Python and bash scripts, Kafka, and other coupled components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for administration of Linux platforms, Elastic Stack software, and supporting software packages
  • Contribute to the design of existing and future platforms
  • Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot the system and the infrastructure that supports it
  • Routinely interact with software developers and data teams
  • Provide input to develop performance/security management of the platform

    Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active clearance
  • Security+, CISSP, CEH or other DoD required certifications or ability to obtain required certifications
  • BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 8 or more years' hands-on systems administration experience with Linux/RedHat
  • Experience with basic networking, switch programming, and troubleshooting
  • Strong Python and bash programming experience
  • Familiarity with Elastic Stack/Elastic Cloud Enterprise and Docker

Preferred Experience:

  • RedHat Linux administration certifications.
  • Familiarity with DoD/Army IT policies and regulations.
  • Experience with Elastic Stack
  • Java or JavaScript development experience a plus
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, etc)
