Job Description    

 

DESCRIPTION:  Position is responsible for supervision of secondary gym during basketball home games.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities, who are otherwise qualified, to perform the essential functions.

 

  1. Must have the ability to attend home basketball games
  2. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parent and students.
  3. Must be comfortable supervising students of all grade levels
  4. Must possess knowledge of how to setup, operate and take down scorer’s table and score clock
  5. Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  6. Must have the ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly

Hourly Rate of Pay:

$13.00

 

RESOPNSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Work in cooperation with the athletic director to facilitate basketball games held in secondary gym
  2. Arrive at the gym one hour before game time
  3. Make sure bleachers are pulled out
  4. Setup scorer’s table and score clock
  5. Meet and greet the visiting team and show them to their locker room
  6. Monitor hallways and keep students inside of the gym
  7. Monitor and correct behavior of students and fans during the game
  8. After the game, put away the score clock, be sure everyone has left the building, shut off lights and lock doors
  9. Other duties as assigned

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, lift, carry, move about, hear and speak. Employee may be required to perform extensive work at a computer display terminal.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, or consistent with the subject being taught, but can be abnormally loud on occasion.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperature fluctuations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals commonly used in instruction and/or cleaning.  It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials during the course of their duties. The employee may be exposed to infectious disease as carried by students.

 

The employee may be required to travel in school owned or leased vehicles while supervising and assisting students.
