Qualifications & Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
College coursework with emphasis in athletic training, physical education, exercise science or related field is preferred.
First Aid and CPR certified.
Must be certified by NATA and the Arizona State Board of Athletic Training.
Demonstrated general proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Skills in emergency medical treatment.
Skills in rehabilitation techniques.
Knowledge of injury prevention techniques.
Skills in supervision of student trainers.
Knowledge of athletics and athletic equipment.
Knowledge of budgeting and purchasing procedures desired.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
Skills in time management.
General Information: Position provides a program of injury prevention, care, and rehabilitation for those students participating in interscholastic sports.
