MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Associate's Degree required. Bachelor degree preferred.

Paralegal Program or a tribal advocate license preferred.

Member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association or the ability to obtain the Navajo Nation Bar within 1 year of employment.

2-4 years of legal experience in a private, public or government.

Utility law experience preferred.

Navajo law experience preferred.

Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle review).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

Provides legal administrative assistance involving various areas of law, such as contracts, proposals, leases, and employment.

Prepares contracts related to construction projects, services agreements, purchase orders, and related utility service agreements.

Provides assistance in review of contracts, leases, and other legal documents; researches legal questions, analysis problems and prepares memoranda and correspondence.

Provides assistance in the processing of contracts, agreements, leases, right of way and similar documents in order to maintain the best legal interest of the Authority.

Undertakes special legal and administrative projects at the direction of General Counsel.

Prepares or assists with ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.

Collects, analyzes, organizes and maintains factual information, documents and case correspondence in accordance with correct legal practice and procedure and prepares for digital archiving, data base entry and filing.

Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.

Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research; attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.

Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
