Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking an outpatient Registered Dietitian for The Queen's Medical Center West Oahu Hawaii; an 80-bed community hospital located approximately 25 miles west of Honolulu.

 

Reporting to Clinical Nutrition Manager, the selected candidate will:

 

  • Be a registered dietitian providing nutrition care for the outpatients as needed and will be responsible to conduct nutrition patient counseling in a group and 1:1 setting for the outpatient areas growing and potential for DB growth opportunities
  • Provide 30 hours in the outpatient diabetes  
  • Have prior experience utilizing the nutrition are process , facility currently uses electronic patient charting as well as "At Your Request" Room Service
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Coordinate and participate in community health fair events as needed
  • Be required to work some weekends and holidays if needed

 

The hospital provides emergency care, and provides services that include medical-surgical care, intensive care and intermediate cardiac services. This beautiful new facility in West Oahu provides room service for patients and staff, as well as outpatient services.

 

This facility is part of The Queen's Health System, which is comprised of four acute care facilities and multiple clinics and affiliated services within the state of Hawaii. Queen's offers a comprehensive range of primary and specialized care services for the Pacific Rim.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing direct comprehensive nutrition servicesKey Duties-Directs nutrition care of special needs population to ensure nutrition needs and customer satisfaction levels are met. -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction to ensure account retention.-Manages, promotes, and educates others on food and nutrition programs according to Sodexo standards and policy. -Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, special diets, and menu requests and probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resource when necessary. -Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel) by keep abreast of the most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice. -Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments..

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitianSodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
