The City of Beaverton is currently accepting applications for Lateral Police Officers. This recruitment process will be used to fill current and future vacancies.
 
Police officers require the ability to learn a considerable amount of factual material such as laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances and procedures, understand sometimes complex oral and written instructions, act effectively and calmly in emergency situations, operate assigned equipment skillfully and safely, prepare clear, concise yet comprehensive reports, analyze situations quickly and objectively, work effectively with the public, other agencies, and other employees.
 
A written exam and physical agility test may be given to qualified applicants.  Oral boards will be scheduled for eligible applicants as needed.  Final applicants will be required to pass a rigorous background examination, and any job offer will be contingent upon passing a medical exam, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
