Duties and Responsibilities
  1. 1. Under supervision of the chair of the BA in Public Health program, support written assignments for BA Public Health students with assessing skills at outlining and organization of written assignments, copy editing student assignments, providing written and verbal feedback on writing skills, and meeting with students to discuss improvement of writing skills;
  2. 2. support student written communication skills, self-assessment of written skills, and skill development;
  3. 3. assist with undergraduate capstone experience courses (PH 480 and 489);
  4. 4. and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. 1. Admitted full-time at the UHM in a graduate-level public health degree program at the time of hire
  2. 2. Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Desirable Qualifications
  1. 1. Doctoral student
  2. 2. Experience working with undergraduate students in a mentoring or teaching capacity
  3. 3. Completion of an MPH or MS in Public Health or related discipline
  4. 4. Experience with professional copy editing
  5. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills (based on interview and references)
  6. 6. Strong interpersonal skills (based on interview and references)
  7. 7. Responsible, organized, dependable, and efficient (based on references)
