Globalfoundries Fab 9 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Electro-Mechanical Technician to become part of our Essex, Vermont team.  This position requires the operation and maintenance of Facilities electrical and mechanical equipment related to the site waste water treatment facility.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes.

  • Responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, and storm water and sludge management.

  • Perform the installation, maintenance and repair of the physical plant and pump stations and all of their components.

  • Assist in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and machinery.

  • Conduct the necessary weekend checks of the treatment plant on a rotating basis.

  • Operate, maintain, and repair facilities electrical and mechanical systems in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

  • Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations.

  • Assist in the creation of operations and maintenance specifications

  • Support complex troubleshooting of facilities equipment and associated failures

  • Partner with other Technicians and Management in identifying training requirements and safety procedures in assigned areas

  • Partner with Engineers and Technicians on various facilities projects

  • Perform additional duties as assigned and assist other specialty areas as required

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 2 or 4 Year Technical Degree

  • Successful candidate will be expected to obtain aVermont Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s license.

  • Have a working knowledge of basic machinery preventive maintenance and repair.

  • Industrial / Commercial System Experience

  • Travel – Limited

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

  • Physical Capacity Demands –Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of shift (excluding breaks)

    • Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift

    • Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling

    • Able to wear upgraded PPE in accordance with Safety procedures, such as N95 Dust Mask or other air filtering devices. 

      Preferred Qualifications:   

       

      • Have a working knowledge of the operation, methods and procedures of a wastewater treatment plant.

      • Have a working knowledge of the machinery used for wastewater treatment and pumping stations.

      • Have a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction. Demonstrated ability to operate computer programs including Microsoft Office

      • Knowledge of Preventative maintenance software and automated building control systems knowledge a plus.

      • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation.

      • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness.

      • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.

      • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical abilities with experience in maintenance and operation of equipment

          • Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team
