Job Description: Registered Nurse Emergency Department

The RN ED provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency room setting. Communicates with physician’s / team leaders/ coworkers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge to identify patient acuity levels
  • Two-year degree in nursing
  • Maintain professional licensure of a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky     
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • Must have BLS Certification
  • Obtain ACLS certification within 6 months and maintains thereafter
