This position is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family care needs to provide palliative and supportive care to the terminally ill and their families. He/She utilizes teaching, assessment and intervention skills to maximize quality of life to patient and family in all settings of hospice care. This position directs the work of home hospice aides/homemakers and/or patient care volunteers and is responsible for promoting the hospice philosophy within the organization and community. The hospice registered nurse is committed to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the hospice concept.
Education, Certification, Registration, LicenseOHDL - Ohio Driver's License
RNL - Registered Nurse License Ohio
BLS - Basic Life Support
Field of Study: NursingYears of Experience: 3 to 5
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Knowledge in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. BLS certification. Excellent nursing process skills; well-developed communication skills; basic knowledge of family systems/dynamics, flexibility.
Driver's License with Auto liability insurance and a current and unrestricted driver's license are also required. Includes driving to perform duties of position at various locations.
